Eight: Energy Spheres

Keep your eyes closed. As you do, imagine that you are surrounded by darkness. This is the deep darkness which is completely unbroken by the light of any kind. There’s no horizon. There are no sounds. There’s nothing, and no one, except for you and the darkness. You float in this darkness, which is warm. It’s like being in the sea, rocked by a gentle motion, like a heartbeat. Let the darkness pulse gently.

As you do, let your whole body relax, letting the motion gently rock you. Breathe in, and then breathe out. As you do, release the tension in your legs, letting all of the muscles relax, beginning with your feet. Let them dangle in space, as you relax your ankles, and then your knees, finally, releasing your thighs.

Next, let all of the tension out of your arms, releasing your shoulders, and then your elbows. Let your hands relax, pretending that there is energy, flowing out through your fingers.

Now, work on letting your face release. Relax your forehead, letting all of the tension. Relax your cheeks and your jaw, letting them go slack. Finally, relax your tongue. Let yourself float for a moment, enjoying the feeling of being rocked by the gentle, beating pulse of the darkness. Let the ebb and flow take over, gently moving you back and forth.

In the darkness, imagine that there is a bright, glowing light. The light is emanating from the center of your chest. It’s bright, white light. Imagine that this light is slowly leaving the center of your chest. This is where your heart chakra is located.

Hear the sound of a chime—it’s high pitched, like a tiny bell being rung. Watch as the sphere begins to vibrate at the rate of the chime. You do not want this to happen. You’re the one who controls this. Bring them back to the rate of your vibration — the rate of your heartbeat, the soft rhythm of your breathing.

It’s yours—you are the one who’s creating this. As you project it from your chest, watch as a great silver ball of light comes out of your chest, coming out until it floats in front of you in the darkness. It’s perfectly round and silver. It’s pulsating with calming energy and soft light.

As you watch, imagine that the sphere begins to separate into two separate spheres. One is silver, and the other is gold. The silver one floats upward until it’s floating above your head, while the gold one floats downward until it’s situated below your feet.

Focus on the gold sphere. It, too, contains energy, although this energy is stronger than the silver. This energy is more chaotic. You send calming waves towards it, to get it in tune with the energy of the silver ball.

As you feel the energy of the two spheres, note that the forces are equal but opposite. Hold out your arms to your sides, palms facing up. You are the one controlling the flow of energy between the two spheres.
